ICANN Opens Comment Period on PIR’s Proposed Implementation of DNSSEC

ICANN is today opening a comment period on Public Interest Registry (PIR)'s proposed implementation of DNS protection Extensions (DNSSEC) in .ORG. On 3 April 2008, ICANN posted the PIR proposal for public data. ICANN has made a preliminary determination that the PIR proposal requires further consideration by the Registry Services Technical Evaluation Panel (RSTEP) considering the new service could raise significant defense or Stability issues.
